Fedora Linux 44 is generally available
On 28 April 2026 the Fedora Project shipped Fedora 44: GNOME 50, Plasma 6.6, Ansible 13, MariaDB 11.8, and Wine/Steam NTSYNC.
Fedora Project Leader Jef Spaleta announced Fedora Linux 44 on 28 April 2026. Downloads are on fedoraproject.org.

- Workstation ships GNOME 50
- KDE Plasma Desktop edition includes Plasma 6.6, a new Plasma Login Manager, and Plasma Setup
- Ansible 13 (check the porting guide before upgrading playbooks)
- Default MariaDB packages now install 11.8
- NTSYNC recommended for Wine and Steam (better Windows/game compatibility)
- Anaconda only creates network profiles for devices you actually configure
- Faster OpenSSL CA loading via directory-hash certificates
