Debian 13.6 point release is available

On 11 July 2026 Debian published 13.6, a Trixie point release with security and important fixes only — no new features.

Hardening

Debian 13.6 was released on 11 July 2026 according to the Trixie release page.

Point releases do not add features. They fold in security updates and other important stable fixes so mirrors and install media stay current.

On an existing Trixie system:

sudo apt update
sudo apt full-upgrade

New installs should prefer the latest 13.6 images from debian.org.

Debian 13.0 was released on 9 August 2025. Trixie is the current stable branch, with point releases such as 13.6 following in 2026.
